2006 People’s Choice
While David Hathaway and I had founded Team iQuad in April of the same year, WSIKF 2006 was the first time we came together as a group of more than four pilots… It was the start of the open door mega fly dynamic that our team was so well known for, so much fun that we couldn’t stop, flying an average of 8-10 hours per day, participating in the indoor demos and headlining the fireworks show and night fly on two different nights.
In this photo, we’re posing with Rick White (far left) and the legendary Ray Bethell (far right) while accepting the 2006 WSIKF People’s Choice award for our presence throughout the week… Team members left to right are Justin Redington, JD Fabich, Todd Rudolph, Steve de Rooy, Egan Davis, John Barresi and David Hathaway.
This was just the beginning of what would become a legendary 7-year journey to over 125 kite events worldwide.
