Lots of work, likely a sub-par performance, but I gave it my all and as I finished, a large group Colombian kite fliers rushed me from behind, hoisted me onto their shoulders and off the field with a great deal of laughter and celebration.
It wasn’t “put on” or anything like that, just mutual love – I’ll be working to pay it back for the rest of my life – viva Colombia, una familia!
